BIOBLITZ at Lory State Park

Join the Reptile and Amphibian Center of the Rockies at Lory State Park for a Bioblitz! We will not only be identifying reptiles and amphibians but also blooming herbaceous plants, mammals, and birds!

May 16th, 2026, from 7:30 AM - 10:30 AM

This event will be held at Lory State Park at 708 Lodgepole Dr., Bellvue, CO

If you would like to join a group, we will all meet at the Lory State Park Visitor Center.

From there, we will split into groups where each group will have a guide as well as experts in herptiles, plants, and birds.

Each group will survey one of the following trails:

  • Well Gulch Trail (1.7 miles, moderate)

  • Shoreline Trail (1.6 miles, moderate)

  • Timber Trail (4.3 miles, difficult)

You do not need to join a group; you are more than welcome to survey any trail at Lory during the specified time.

All observations will be recorded using the iNaturalist App

How to use:

  2. Search the project or follow the link!

  3. Follow the project

  4. During the Bioblitz, open the app and add observations.
