Species: Three-Toed Box Turtle

Sex: Female

Estimated DOB: 06/01/1990

Prairie Dawn is a gentle and quiet soul who loves to spend her days with her neck outstretched in the breeze. She's a very easy going turtle who had a rough start to life. She was in a loving home for the last 4 years before sadly her owner passed away. Estimated at at least 35 years old, we don't know a lot about her past or original home life but her shell tells a story of injury, recovery, and resilience.

Prairie Dawn has many old shell injuries and is missing part of her carapace. Luckily the injuries to her shell have long since healed over to just scarring, but she will appreciate a home that can closely monitor her shell health going forward. After receiving a nail and beak trim here at RACR, she is feeling much better and ready to find the perfect home that can provide her with plenty of space to roam and substrate to dig and burrow into!

This sweetheart is outgoing and curious, especially when earthworms are involved! She loves her salads as well and is an eager eater.
